Restoring Hope with Infertility Testing and Treatment

One in eight couples experience difficulty in trying to conceive. Infertility is a pervasive women’s health issue that creates enormous mental pain. The Obgyn doctors at Plano Women’s Healthcare can help you overcome infertility with compassionate care and targeted treatment. If you’ve tried to get pregnant with no success, take heart. We routinely see women that, have complex diagnoses or suffer recurrent miscarriage, become mothers!

Medical science defines infertility as a disease that comes to light when someone has unsuccessfully tried for over one year to get pregnant, or six months if they are over 35. One of our skilled Ob gyns will consult with you on your medical history, and may recommend fertility testing. Depending on your age, the first step in fertility treatment may involve recording your monthly cycle with an ovulation chart. Oftentimes, simply knowing when ovulation occurs can result in conception.

We can induce ovulation with the oral fertility drug Clomid. Once Clomid prompts your body to release an egg during ovulation, intrauterine insemination (IUI) can greatly increase the chances of getting pregnant. With IUI, your Obgyn will use a small catheter to insert washed and prepared sperm from your partner or donor sperm directly into the uterus during a simple in-office procedure.

Don’t delay in having a conversation with an Obgyn doctor about your fertility concerns. If you live in Plano, Dallas, Frisco or the surrounding areas, contact us to begin the process of diagnosing and treating infertility.
